Chris Howe chris howe, Projects Director
B/Arch

Registered Architect ( New Zealand )
Chartered Architect ( NSW Australia )
Associate, New Zealand Institute of Architects

Chris has been involved in the building and design industries for over 20 years, initially in product design and commercial interiors, and later in construction management and architectural design.

Chris has held executive positions with national and international building product manufacturers, has been involved in the construction management of large residential projects, the provision of specialist building services, and has a sound knowledge of building products and construction techniques in Australia, the Pacific Rim and Europe.

Chris's interests lie in the technological aspects of architecture, including structure, materials, construction methods and sustainability. He has written on the use of glass in architecture, produced technical reviews on recently completed multi-storey commercial buildings, and debated the future use of computers in the design process, both as generators of architectural form, and as facilitators of the design and construction process.

Chris believes that together with efficient design and construction management, the development of a team approach to the architectural and construction process, and the ability to analyse projects simultaneously from both the design and construction perspective, the integration of architectural form, function and materials can be achieved early in the design process, enabling the use of construction methods which suit local conditions, and optimise both capital costs and construction timetables.

These skills, together with a reputation for integrity, high levels of negotiation skills, technical expertise and business efficiency, has resulted in both the physical and financial success of projects with which he has been involved.
